How much does Starlink cost in the UK?
Curious about how much Starlink costs in the UK? As professional Starlink installers we are well placed to guide you. We'll delve into the details behind the monthly internet expenses, Starlink kit prices, and installation fees.
What is Starlink?
Starlink gives our customers access to high-speed internet via the world’s largest constellation of advanced satellites in low orbit around the earth, providing an alternative to traditional wired broadband. It's especially beneficial in remote rural areas without access to fast broadband, and for those needing high speed internet on the move such as trains, boats and vans.
Starlink costs can be broadly categorised into three components:
Monthly Starlink Internet Fees
Starlink Kit Prices
Starlink Installation Costs
Let's break down each element to give you a clearer understanding of what you might be investing to join the Starlink network in the UK.
Starlink Monthly Internet Fees
Starlink UK offers various monthly plans tailored to diverse user needs, split into personal and business plans. There are two questions you need to answer to pick the right plan.
Do I need Starlink priority data?
In contrast to the standard data offered by Starlink UK on all plans, which may experience some variability in speed during peak hours or network congestion, the priority data feature guarantees a consistently high-speed internet connection. All business plans are offered with a priority data quota.
While the standard data meets general needs, the priority data is tailored for users requiring uninterrupted connectivity, although this comes at a cost, which you can see in the tariffs below.
Will I be mobile with my Starlink kit?
While Starlink does offer a degree of mobility, it's important to note that the primary design is for stationary setups. The Starlink satellite dish requires a clear and fixed view of the sky. However, if mobility is a priority, Starlink can be moved to different locations.
The monthly cost associated with the mobility feature is higher compared to a stationary setup. If you anticipate frequent moves or travel, it's advisable to weigh the convenience against the additional expense.

Renting Kits: Starlink UK recently introduced a kit rental option for the residential data plan (Standard plan), where you have the option to rent the Standard Actuated kit for £10/month.
If this is the kit you prefer we recommend this option, because it gives you much more flexibility.
Clarifying Starlink internet speeds: The High Performance kit doesn't automatically translate to faster internet speeds. The Starlink network, not the hardware, is the primary determinant of your connection's performance.
All Starlink hardware can handle speeds of 300+ Mbps, and your actual experience depends on your service plan and local network usage, rather than the specific kit you choose. Ultimately, the choice of kit should align with your specific use case and budget.
Starlink Installation Costs
When considering the installation of your Starlink kit, it's essential to assess your specific use case. If you plan on using it for mobile purposes, we recommend familiarising yourself with the kit so that you can easily set it up wherever you go.
However, if you're opting for a permanent Starlink installation for your home, business, boat, or vehicle, we recommend a professional installation. While it's possible to do it yourself, a professional Starlink installer ensures optimal setup, performance, and peace of mind. Our expert engineers possess the knowledge and tools to strategically position the Starlink Kit, neatly lay cables, and troubleshoot potential issues, resulting in a reliable and efficient network.
The costs of a permanent Starlink installation vary depending on the complexity of the setup. In addition to your Starlink kit, you can expect to need the following items:
Starlink mount: £60 - £120 (with six options to choose from)
Cable Clips: £3 - £10 (for both internal and external)
Starlink Cable Routing Kit: £85
Equipment to drill holes for caballing
Ladder (depending on Starlink location)
Opting for a professional installation typically takes at least one full day of a Starlink installer's time, with costs ranging between £500 - £1,000 per day. For more information about our Starlink installation services click the link.
